Washington DC. US President Donald Trump has said that he has not put any pressure on Iran to come to the negotiating table. He indicated that he is in no hurry to reach an agreement with Iran on the social network Truth Social. "Even if they sign a meaningless contract, it doesn't matter to me," the post said.
He also claimed that the US has maintained "almost complete control" over the Strait of Hormuz, noting that the position of the US is now much better than before. However, most of the commercial ships have been stopped since Iran has continued to attack and target ships in the important waterway.
Although some oil tankers have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the last few weeks, their volume is much less than when the war started. Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the US and Iran in June to further extend the April ceasefire. But the agreement ended in deadlock.
