Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Minister Sita Badi has said that active participation and solidarity of all parties is necessary for building a society free from human trafficking and trafficking.
On the occasion of the 20th National Day against Human Trafficking and Trafficking, Minister Badi has urged the Union, State and local governments, security agencies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, civil society, media, development partners and ordinary citizens to fulfill their roles responsibly.
This year, the day is being celebrated with the national theme 'Right Use of Technology and Awareness: Solidarity in Building a Nation Free of Human Trafficking'. Minister Badi emphasized that the forms, means and challenges of human trafficking are also changing with the rapid development of technology, so safe and responsible use of technology, raising public awareness and inter-agency coordination should be made more effective.
Minister Badi informed that the National Policy against Human Trafficking, 2082 has been implemented along with the implementation plan with clear roles and responsibilities of all three levels of government. In addition, she said that a bill to timely amend the Human Trafficking and Trafficking (Control) Act, 2064 is under consideration in the Parliament and the process of other necessary legal reforms is also underway.
Minister Badi emphasized that women, children and other vulnerable communities may be at high risk of human trafficking and trafficking due to displacement, insecurity, poverty and lack of employment during natural disasters.
Expressing grief over the loss of property caused by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River, she expressed her condolences to those who lost their lives in the calamity and condoled with the bereaved families. Also, she wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and the safe rescue of the missing citizens.
Mentioning human trafficking and trafficking as a serious attack on human rights, freedom and dignity of individuals, Minister Badi said that the government is continuously advancing legal, policy and institutional reforms for its prevention and control, rescue, protection, rehabilitation of victims and victims, access to justice and economic empowerment.
She said that continuous cooperation and solidarity between the government, security agencies, civil society, media, development partners and the community is necessary to make the campaign against human trafficking and trafficking more effective and called on everyone to play an active role in this campaign.
