Chitwan. The local level of Chitwan is providing financial, material and technical support for the relief, rescue and resettlement of Bhotekoshi flood victims. In addition to providing financial support to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, the local level has mobilized ambulances, hearses and other means for the search, management and rescue of those who disappeared in the flood.
Ichchakamana rural municipality is going to provide Rs 25,000 for the search and rescue of the permanent residents of their municipality who went missing in the Bhotekoshi flood. According to Lokraj Khatri, the chief administrative officer of the municipality, so far four people from the municipality have gone missing due to the flood. The rural municipality has also decided to provide support of Rs 11 lakh from public representatives, employees and disaster management fund.
He said that the funds are going to be provided to the victim's family for the purpose of providing relief in order to search for their relatives. He informed that ambulances and hearses of the municipality have also been mobilized for search, rescue and dead body management.
Likewise, Kalika Municipality has contributed Rs 35 lakh to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. According to the head of the municipality, Vinod Regmi, Rs. 26 lakhs collected from public representatives and employees and Rs. 9 lakhs from the disaster fund of the municipality were supported.
Madi Municipality has decided to send Rs 43 lakh 98 thousand 206 to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The 84th meeting of the city executive decided to support the amount.
According to the head of Madi municipality, Tarakumari Kazi Mahato, out of this amount, Rs. 10 lakh is from the emergency disaster management fund, Rs.
Likewise, Khairhani Municipality has decided to provide Rs.15 lakhs to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for relief and re-establishment. The city executive meeting held on August 18 took the decision.
Rapti Municipality has also prepared to provide financial support to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. According to the municipality, after the holidays, the executive committee will hold a meeting to decide on the amount of assistance, said Shamsher Lama, the mayor of the municipality. He said that since the flood, the municipal ambulances, agricultural ambulances and other means and equipment have been mobilized for search, rescue and other assistance.
Earlier, Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality has decided to provide Rs 10.1 million for the relief and resettlement of citizens affected by the Bhotekoshi flood, while Ratnanagar Municipality has decided to provide Rs 32 million to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Along with financial support, the local level of Chitwan is also assisting in search and rescue, search for missing persons, corpse management and other activities in the flood-affected areas. Local level ambulances, hearses and other necessary resources have been mobilized for this work.
