7 thousand 570 houses have been completely damaged due to the devastating Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa, while 32 thousand 933 people have been directly affected based on the household. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, government structures, schools, health institutions, roads, bridges, agriculture and energy sectors have also been heavily damaged by the floods.

Meanwhile, two people who were trapped for 10 days after flooding in the tunnel of Trishuli-3 'A' hydropower project were rescued alive on Friday. Supervisor Kabir Maharjan and foreman mechanic Sanjay Shah were rescued.

Shanti Mahat, Deputy Secretary, Spokesperson and Information Officer of the authority informed in a regular press conference that both the rescued persons have been brought to Sri Birendra Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment.

The rescue team also removed the body of one person from the same tunnel on Friday. The authority said that it is not certain whether there are still any people inside the tunnel. The search for more people continues using techniques including drilling.

Due to the swampy terrain, it was difficult to transport heavy equipment to the scene. The authority said that when the heavy machine was tried to be taken twice, it crashed into the ground and the equipment could not be taken. Currently, preparations are being made to take the necessary machine parts separately and assemble them at the scene. Search and rescue has been continued through technically feasible alternative methods.

Additional equipment and technical manpower have been mobilized in other hydropower projects including Trishuli-3 'A'. The authority said that it is hopeful that other missing citizens can also be rescued safely.

Received the list of 155 more Nepalis stuck in China

Meanwhile, the list of 155 more Nepalis stuck in China has been received from the Chinese side. Among them, 109 are male and 46 are female. According to preliminary information, 145 people are from Rasuwa, one from Dhading and nine from Kathmandu.

Earlier on Thursday, 113 Nepalis who were stuck in China returned to Nepal. The authority said that the received list will be verified and made public.

15 mobilization teams have been mobilized in the authority's cluster for the management of Nepalis returning from China. In coordination with the district administration office and the relevant local level, preparations are being made for the place to keep them and the necessary management.

Currently, there are 4,627 people in 37 holding centers in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

Damage from roads, bridges to schools and health facilities

The Rapid Damage and Need Assessment (RDNA) team formed to identify the damage caused by the flood and the necessary resources in Rasuwa has submitted a preliminary report. The authority has made it clear that as this description is only a preliminary assessment, detailed damage details are yet to come.

According to preliminary reports, 48 ​​government structures have been damaged by the flood. Of these, 35 are completely and 13 partially damaged.

Similarly, 18 schools were affected, of which 11 were completely and seven partially damaged. In terms of health institutions, seven institutions have been damaged, four completely and three partially.

55 km road towards the road has been completely damaged. The flood has also damaged 37 motorized bridges and 68 suspension bridges.

1 thousand 806 hectares of arable land affected

It is estimated that 1,806 hectares of arable land has been damaged by the flood. Due to this, it is estimated that there will be a decrease in food production of about 7,686 metric tons.

The flood has also affected livestock and poultry farming in five districts. 17 bank branches have also been affected in the affected area.

The energy sector has also suffered a lot. 783 MW power generation has been affected due to flood. The Authority has released preliminary details of damage to 13 hydropower projects, one solar plant and two transmission lines in the affected area.
