Dhangadhi. My son had a big dream of becoming a policeman. He took the exam twice, but failed. He said that he will fill the form once again and get the name. Even that dream of his could not be fulfilled. Now even his son's body has not been found.

42-year-old Fuldevi Rana of Krishnapur municipality-3, Baibhapatti tol of Kanchanpur was shocked by saying this. She was silent for a while. She wiped her tears.

The mother who had been crying for 10 days now seemed to have run out of tears.

His only son Krashan Rana has been out of touch for 10 days. His family does not know where he is after the floods in Rasuwa. I hope that my son will return. Fuldevi's days are spent waiting for some news about her son's condition.

People gathered at Fuldevi's house on Thursday afternoon. From the neighbors of the village to Dropati Rana, the deputy head of the Krishnapur municipality, had reached there. People have been coming and going to his house since the news of Kration's disappearance after the flood.

Kreshan is the only son of the family. He was the main earner in a family of six. His family lives in Baibhapatti with father Nandkishore Rana, mother Fuldevi, 17-year-old sister, wife Vipasa and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Apart from the house, the family does not have enough land for farming. Therefore Fuldevi cultivates in Adhiyan. Due to poor economic conditions, Kration studied and worked from an early age. He could study only up to class 12.

My son was good in studies. Due to the poor condition of the house, he studied by working as a laborer. He also studied Class 12 while working as a labourer,' Fuldevi said, 'After Class 12, he could not continue his studies.'

Creation's dream was not to spend his life as a laborer. He dreamed of getting a job in the army, police or any security agency. He filled the form twice and took the exam, but got out in the first round.

One tooth was knocked out in the first stage because it was a little too tall, but he did not lose heart. He used to fill the form again and take the exam, he said, "I will take out the name," Fuldevi said.

Due to the financial situation, family responsibilities pushed him towards employment before he could fulfill that dream. He became a supporter of the family by doing various jobs from house building mason.

He reached Rasuwa last January for employment. He used to work in China Hydropower 216 like welding and picking spices. He used to do welding more. He used to earn around Rs 32,000 per month and with that money he used to pay the installments of the house and run the family expenses.

It has been three years since Kration got married. His wife, 21-year-old Vipasha, was taking care of their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter along with housework. Vipassa has studied till class 10th. Now Vipassa herself is sick. He was diagnosed with sickle cell disease in a test conducted some time ago. He has to take medicine regularly. Treatment is done at the village health post. If the situation is serious, they should be taken to Dhangadhi.

Their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter has also been sick since birth. Since she is often sick and crying, the family suspects that she may also have sickle cell, but both Kration and her daughter have not been tested yet.

After the disappearance of her husband, Vipassa's condition has become weaker. "My daughter-in-law has given up food," Fuldevi said, "She has sickle cell." On top of that, the little girl should be fed milk. The baby is crying because she is sick. What should we remind?'

Fuldevi does not have her own mobile phone. Kreshan used to call his daughter-in-law Vipassa or his daughter's mobile from Rasuwa. Sometimes there was a video call. At that time Fuldevi also used to talk to her son.

On the 10th of August, there was no call at Kration's house. Only two days before that, he had spoken to Vipasha in a text message.

On the 10th of August at around 11 o'clock in the morning, Fuldevi came to know about the flood in Rasuwa. She went to cut the grass.

Devarani has seen a flood on Facebook on her mobile phone. She informed me. As soon as I heard the news, I was shocked," Fuldevi said, "We called my son's number. The phone did not answer.'

Then the family informed the relatives and the administration. Kreshan's uncle posted his photo and contact number and asked for a search on social media, but even on the 10th day, the family has not received any news about his condition.

His father Nandkishore and a person from the village reached Kathmandu on August 17th to search for Kreshan. They were sent to Kathmandu after collecting donations from the village. On the 18th of August, they reached Singha Durbar.

Although they got the information that the search and rescue work was going on in Rasuwa, they did not get any concrete news about the situation of Kration.

"It was said that the work of looking at the body is going on, but there is no news about the son," Fuldevi said.

Not only Kration, two more members of his family are also missing after the Rasuwa flood.

Kreshan's own uncle Kalu Rana, 30, and Rikesh Rana, 29, son of Thula Bua, are also missing. All three of them went to Rasuwa to work in China Hydropower. The camp where they lived was also in the same place.

Kration was on night duty the night before the incident. According to the family, he returned to the Dera after finishing work around 7 am. It took about five minutes to reach the camp from the place of work.

The family speculates that Krashan, who returned after night duty, was preparing to rest after having breakfast. The flood that followed made Kalu and Rikesh disappear along with him.

Kalu has a 13-year-old son and a young daughter. Rikesh has a 12-year-old daughter. His elder sister is disabled, who cannot get out of bed. The responsibility of Rikesh's wife, mother and daughter was also on his shoulders. His father has already passed away.

All three were the main breadwinners of their families. Their houses are also connected to each other. The dream of the three families who were living in the mud house was to improve the condition of the house by working. Now the three families have the same concern at home.

Kreshan's mother Phuldevi is not yet hopeful of her son's return, but she is unable to contain herself when there is no news even for 10 days.

When he called, he would say that he would name the police. We also thought that his dream would come true," she said. "Now, leaving his sick wife and sick daughter, where did he go, we don't know what happened."

She is also worried about how to pay the installment of the house which is being paid from her son's earnings.
