Kanchanpur. Far West Province Chief Nazir Mian has said that the state should be responsible for implementing the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission. Accepting the annual report of the National Human Rights Commission, Sudurpaschim Province Office, Dhangadhi in the financial year 2082/83, the state of human rights and the latest human rights issues, he said today that the recommendations should be implemented.
Provincial Chief Mian said that it is necessary for the common people to be self-aware and aware about human rights. He said that unless citizens are aware of human rights, their promotion cannot proceed effectively.
"People themselves are not aware of the specific issues of human rights. It is necessary to be aware and knowledgeable about it. The work done by the commission in promoting human rights and raising awareness is commendable. I want to thank the commission for this", said the provincial chief Mian. He also expressed his commitment to study the report submitted by the Commission and submit it for discussion in the Provincial Assembly with necessary suggestions.
In Article 294 of the Constitution of Nepal, there is a constitutional provision that the constitutional body can prepare a separate report on the activities of each province and submit it to the head of the province. According to the same constitutional provision, the provincial office of the commission has submitted the annual report for the financial year 2082/83 to the provincial head.
Presenting the report, the Chief Joint Secretary of the Provincial Office, Prakash Dutt Bhatta, informed about the activities carried out by the office in the financial year 2082/83, the human rights situation in Far Western Province and the latest human rights issues.
