19 August, Biratnagar. If 26-year-old Anoj Dhamala of Morang Belbari Municipality-9 had his way, he would be in Korea right now. He passed the Korean language test and medical examination and was on the waiting list.
He also had the responsibility of treating his mother who was sick with cancer at home. After the visa was not finalized, he left for Mansarovar Yatra with his uncle Somnath Kattel.
Somnath Mansarovar is the manager of 'Samrat Tour and Travels'.
As he had worked as a guide for Mansarovar pilgrims before, Anoj had gone on the Mansarovar trip with uncle Somnath with the hope of raising the expenses of his mother's treatment rather than staying at home.
However, after the severe flood that occurred in Rasuwa's Bhotekoshi on 10th August, both uncles and nephews are missing.
According to Rajan Ghimire, Anoj's father, although the physical body has not been found, the family has given up hope of finding him alive. On Friday, Kush's body was cremated and Anoj was cremated.
Rajan said that there is no hope that Anoj is safe while searching. No one could get out of the car with uncle-nephew! Even the flooded car has not been found," he said. "The family suffered a lot while waiting, after the hope of returning died, we made Kush's body and cremated it today."
Anoj's last rites have been performed according to Hindu tradition at Kesalia Ghat at Lakshmimarg.
Anoj's uncle Somnath was also cremated in Biratnagar just three days ago. Anoj's father Rajan says that the family is in mourning because of the disappearance of uncle and nephew.
According to him, the job of Kailash-Mansarovar travel guide was not the only option for Anoj, it was a good option to raise the treatment expenses of his mother Nainkala, who is fighting cancer.
It was said that a 22-day trip would bring good income. He said that he would cover the expenses of his mother's treatment. He is not himself now," said Rajan.
Anoj's brother teaches in a private school. It makes it difficult to raise enough money for the mother's treatment. After Anoj's condition, the family is now worried about how to raise the expenses of the sick mother's treatment.
160 people from Koshi province are missing due to the same disaster on August 10. According to the police, 18 people are missing from Morang along with Anoj and his uncle Somnath.
