Kathmandu. The dead bodies of the people who died due to the severe floods in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli riverside areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts have been brought to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
According to District Administration Office Kathmandu, although the identified bodies have been handed over to the respective families, most of the bodies in the teaching hospital's mortuary are mutilated, mutilated and decaying.
Due to the fact that more dead bodies continue to arrive at the hospital, there is a lack of place to keep dead bodies and if there is no proper management in time, there is a high risk of stench and the spread of epidemics, so the dead body management process has been started.
According to the decision of District Security Committee Kathmandu on August 15th, 85 dead bodies that have not been identified so far have been temporarily managed in a safe manner in accordance with the provisions of the Unidentified and Unclaimed Dead Bodies Management Guidelines, 2078 (with amendment 2083).
During the handling of the dead body, the international protocol of the National Human Rights Commission, Nepal Red Cross Society and ICRC has been followed by applying a photograph of each body, a sample of the organ for DNA testing and a body tag.
