After the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa, 335 unidentified dead bodies found in Chitwan via Trishuli and Narayani rivers have been managed. Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 Devghat forest, the dead body was managed till Tuesday night.
According to District Police Office Information Officer Chandrabhushan Yadav, out of 348 bodies found so far, 335 have been managed and 12 have been identified.
Since it is difficult to manage dead bodies in the district, after collecting DNA, they have started taking them to the forest and burying them under ditches. Police managed 96 dead bodies on Saturday.
On the second day, one hundred and three bodies were dug on Sunday, 81 on Monday, and 55 on the fourth day, Tuesday. Among those managed underground, there are 129 corpses with no gender identification. Similarly, the police informed that there are 173 men, 73 women, 15 girls and 11 boys.
Chief of District Police Office Chitwan, Rameshwar Paudel, said that the DNA samples of the dead bodies were managed in the forest. After the post-mortem, the identified bodies were taken away by the family.
