3 October, Surkhet. Humla's Simkot-Hilsa road under the Karnali Corridor, which was blocked due to continuous snowfall, has been put into operation.

In the Nara Lake area of Namkha rural municipality, it took time to open the road due to four to five meters of snow in some places.

Bel Bahadur Nepali, Head of Road Planning, informed that the road has been opened by mobilizing equipment and manpower to remove the snow piled up on the road.

According to him, it was a challenge to open the road after it snowed three times. The 95 km long road from Simkot to Hilsa, the border region of China, was blocked due to snowfall.

Especially in the area of about 15 km from Yari to Hilsa, there was thick snow. The Nepalese said that it was difficult to open the road due to the high amount of snow in the Nara Lake area, which is more than 4,500 meters above sea level. "There was four to five meters of snow in some places in the Nara Lake region," he said.

According to the project, there is more snow on the road from Thadodhunga towards Hilsa. JCB was used to remove snow from the road. Nepali said that the road planning office opened the road by deploying its own equipment, fuel and machine operators.

With the opening of the road, the local residents, tourists and Nepalese who came to Taklakot area of China for business and employment have got a relief.
