Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality has worked according to the plan to organize the footpaths. There is always a conflict between the road and the footpath, or between pedestrians and vehicles. Even our footpaths are not good according to certain international standards", he said, "People should be able to walk on the footpaths easily. It is to ensure that the people of the country do not lose their lives while walking on the road or crossing the road, do not face any kind of problem, do not get dismembered and do not suffer loss of property.
According to Neupane, this bridge is going to be built at a cost of five crore rupees to the metropolis. To make the project sustainable, we proposed to build structures like seven shutters, toilets and restaurants in the green area. However, the then government of Nepal did not take these proposals very positively. Now, as only this structure has been approved, we are working accordingly, he said.
He said that the work was also done on the day of Ashtami because the traffic is less during Dashain. At other times, the traffic here is very heavy. Even though it is Dashain time now, you are seeing traffic jam. The city police are also working in the management. However, we are working in a balanced way", he said.
