Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, China has held separate talks with Israel and Turkey on regional peace, security and economic cooperation.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (SICA) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

In a meeting with Israeli President Herzog, Wang said that humanitarian aid should be ensured in the Gaza Strip and forced settlement expansion in the West Bank should be stopped. He mentioned that the two-state concept is the right way to solve the Palestinian problem. China maintains that both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples should be able to live in peace.

Herzog said that Israel is committed to a one-China policy and wants to expand economic, trade and cultural ties with China. He mentioned Israel's views on the situation in the Middle East and mentioned that his country is facing security challenges.

China and Israel will celebrate 35 years of diplomatic relations next year. Both sides have said that they will take this opportunity as an opportunity to increase cooperation in various fields.

Similarly, in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan, Wang stressed the expansion of strategic cooperation, trade and investment between the two countries. He said that coordination should be increased between China's Belt and Road initiative and the Central Corridor passing through Turkey. He also mentioned China's support for Turkey to host the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP-31).

Fidan stated that Turkey attaches importance to the relationship with China and said that it would welcome Chinese companies to invest in their country and Chinese tourists to visit. He said that Turkey is committed to the one-China policy and will not allow its land to be used for activities that affect China's security.

55 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and China will be completed next year. Both countries expect to further expand trade, investment and strategic cooperation.

In both the meetings, the situation in the Middle East and regional security were discussed. During the talks with Turkey, views were also exchanged on international issues including the Ukraine crisis.

China has emphasized the need to increase dialogue, cooperation and trust among Asian countries through the SICA Summit. Regional security, economic development and international cooperation were also discussed in the conference.
