16 August, Kathmandu. The gas vehicles that were stopped on the highway due to rain and landslides have arrived in Kathmandu.
According to Shiv Prasad Ghimire, former president of the gas industry and Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, the gas vehicles which have been lying on the road since last Monday night entered the capital this afternoon.
"14 vehicles of Sugam and Everest gas, which have been stuck since yesterday, have arrived in Kathmandu today around 2/3 o'clock," former president Ghimire said, "1,312 gas cylinders have been brought in from those vehicles."
For the easy supply of gas in the capital, the industrialists have started preparations to bring filled cylinders from different districts of Terai.
Ghimire said that since it is not possible to transport gas with small vehicles and gas bullets cannot reach all places, preparations are being made to bring gas through 10 to 12-wheel big trucks.
"We are arranging 100 to 200 trucks in coordination with the Narayani Transport Professionals Association and some other organizations," Ghimire told Online News.
He emphasized that government agencies should be prepared to remove possible landslides and obstacles on the highway. He said that machinery and equipment should be kept in readiness to prevent gas vehicles from stopping for a long time when the road is blocked.
"There is no solution when the roads like Rasuwa and Nuwakot are washed away, but where the normal road is damaged or there is a landslide, the road department should put machines and equipment to remove it immediately," Ghimire said, "Nepal Police and Traffic Police should arrange for traffic management and peace and security.
This development carries broader significance for local communities, public services, and policy implementation across Nepal.
